Exactly 27, because a yard is 3 ft and 3 × 3 × 3 = 27. To convert cubic feet to yards, divide by 27.
How do I convert square feet to cubic yards?
You need a depth. Multiply square feet by depth in inches and divide by 324 (27 ft³ × 12 in/ft). 500 ft² at 3 in is 500 × 3 ÷ 324 = 4.63 yd³.
